VICTORY OVER STAGNATION
Deut. 1:6-8
It is not God's will for us to be stagnant. Financial blessings is not spiritual growth. Stagnation is to be in a state of no progress; retrogressing or moving in circles. Having no progress despite salvation is a sign of stagnation.
Types of stagnation
1. Spiritual stagnation. Affects our inner man depending on whether you are saved.
2. Physical stagnation is expressed in retrogression, delay, failure, near success syndrome.
Reasons for stagnation.
1. It could be caused by God. God has a plan for everyone. When you are constantly moving against His plan, He could frustrate you. Pride, sin, rebellion etc. are some reasons God stagnate men.
2. Satan
3. Man. Ourselves, our character, our tongue
4. Fear, procrastination, unbelief, prayerlessness, avoiding risk, disobedience, parental curses, unforgiveness, stinginess
How to overcome Stagnation
1. You must be born again
2. You must learn to work on your tongue. Pro. 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Matt 15:18 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man."
3. You must avoid bitterness and unforgiveness and anger and comparison with other people.
4. You must avoid pride. Jer. 50:31 "Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee." James 4:6 "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."
5. You must learn to take responsibilities
6. You must learn to honor you parents in the Lord. Eph. 6:1-3
7. You must learn to improve your life. Avoid lies. Work on your personal hygiene. You must be committed to success. Pro. 13:4 "The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat."
8. You must meditate on God's word and do it. Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
9. You must be persistent in prayers; personal and corporate prayers.
