OPERATIONS OF FAITH

Romans 4:17-22 The things that God promises are delivered through faith. Genesis 17:15-22 

'Ishmael' is the result of human effort, impatience. 'Isaac' is the reward for waiting on God, he is the product of grace. He is the reward of faith. 

Sometimes the way up in the agenda of God is down.

Ishmael is a product of man's shortsightedness and immediate gratification. Ishmael is a ridicule, mockery. Ishmael is the offspring of the flesh. Whatever flesh produces, flesh keeps. Genesis 21:9 "And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking." KJV

 God's blessing is worth waiting for. God is worth waiting on. When God gives His word, He has put His integrity, personality, reputation and character on the line.

God can never turn against His word. Isaiah 55:10-11 "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." KJV

 Do not let anything tamper with your joy.
