Colossians 2
Epicureanism is the pursuit of pleasure. It advocates for a simple life. It is very subtle yet very dangerous. It rejects immortality and after life. Epicurus was its founder. He thought that the greatest thing in life is pleasure. He believed it was best to avoid marriage completely. Epicureans are glorified atheist. One can mistake them as Christians; but looking beyond the surface and scratching deep, epicureans are nothing close to Christians.
The church is not a place to hear new things but a place to hear fresh things; old aged truth freshly.
It is important for Christians /believers to understand why certain things were written to us. Phil. 3:18-19 "(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now telling you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" KJV
1 cor. 1:20 "Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath God not made foolish the wisdom of this world?" KJV
