VISIONARY LEADERSHIP (Part 1)
Habakkuk 2:1-4
A vision is something that compels you to live a certain way. Vision simply put can be defined as the final destination in view. Vision provides you with direction; an inner directory. Vision can be imagined. One thing is needful for vision: the power of sight.
A leader is any person with a vision who has the capacity and ability to advance himself and others towards the vision. Visionary leader is a person who never looses sight of the vision. Every visionary leader is one with a proven focus. You should anticipate and prepare for leadership positions where ever you are. If you have influence over anyone, you are already a leader.
Good leadership is service with a vision. Vision changes men. We can inherit vision. Leadership is not a function of age but a function of responsibility. If you are born again and you have the Holy Spirit, you are qualified to be a leader.
Once you have gotten the vision, write them down. When you have written down the vision, you should be the first to read it; read to understand, digest the vision, let it permeate every aspect of your being.
You can not have a vision contrary to the main vision of the church you attend or the company you work with. Write down the vision so you can meditate on it for your own personal revelation.
A leader without proper understanding of the vision will become a tyrant. Visionary leadership is tied to knowledge. Visionary leaders run after knowledge. A man without knowledge is a man without discipline. Vision becomes a wish without knowledge. A visionary leader is a builder of men. Visionary leaders are people who take the initiative. Leadership requires sacrifice. You don't need a position to be a leader.
