The book of REVELATION was written 66 years after the death of Jesus Christ.

Were John(the revelator) in his 30 or 40something years when Jesus called him to follow Him, John would have been too old as at the time he was on the Island of Patmos.

I believe John was old but not too old(wrinkled, stricken in years) as at the time Revelations was written.

John would probably have been a Teenager between 15 and 20 when he started following Jesus.

He was probably the youngest of the Disciples and Jesus acclaimed Beloved Disciple.

Remember, they left everything behind to follow Jesus Christ.

You are not too young to actively follow Jesus.
